Kristine Davidson's Blog Posts

Hello Friends!

It's Kristine Davidson with you today and have a fun layout to share! I used the most amazing crafty collection called CRAFTY GIRL - and you must admit that this is the cutest arts and crafts collection right ?! I have created a few layouts with this kit and I am not tired of it yet!!!

Today I am sharing a layout about an event my friends and I attend every year called Crop & Create.  We meet here yearly to talk about life events and scrapbook.

I created a few layers with the bits and pieces, the chipboard and even with the pattern papers. I cut a few strips of paper about 1/2" to 1 inch wide and layered them to create some visual interest.

Adding more details and layers with chipboard and the cute diecuts is just one of my favorite things. I added pop dots on a few of the embellishments to create dimension. My journaling is simple in my own handwriting at the bottom of my layout.

I hope you enjoyed my layout today and come join Simple Stories and Myself on social media. We have so much more to show you!

Hello Friends!

It's Kristine with you today and I'll be sharing a layout and a card I created with the St. Patrick's Day Simple Set.

You are probably thinking why would she show us St Patricks Day at the end of April! Well this is why ... it's not a St. Patty's day layout and I want to show you how you can use a THEMED kit into something more " generic ".

I created a layout using the kit but I used mostly the flowers, hears, and tried to avoid the shamrocks and more greenish colored paper. I apsolutly LOVE the pink in this kit and I really wanted to focus on that color and the flowers.

I cut up some shapes using a few metal dies I have - such as tags, banners, and circle shapes. This allowed me to use some sections of the 3x4 cards that come in the kit. I cut up a few pieces to create my own diecuts such as the "Charmed Life". This allows you to stretch those kits and use them even if it's not a St. Patricks Day or any themed layout!

Here is another close up of the layout - of course I added pop dots and journal strips. My layouts would not be complete if I didn't add those!

I also created a card - using the sticker sheet I used the Happy & the Day sticker. I left out the St. Patricks. See what I did there!? Yes.. I made something different from a themed sticker.

I hope you give this kit a try because it is really beautiful. You can see that you do not need themed photos to use a themed kit!

Hello  Friends! It’s Kristine Davidson with you today. I am so excited to share my projects with you today. I was so inspired by the latest Simple Set called Mama Llama! Have you seen this yet? It is soooo cute! The diecut stickers of little llamas, hearts and cacti? Ya it’s
a cute one.

So my first project is a layout – called Mama Llama. I didn’t want to use a white piece of cardstock for my background so I used a piece of ledge paper from the SN@P! Basics Collection.

I am one who loves layers and colors. This layout is no exception. I used as many pieces of paper as I could for layout. I spread it across the middle of the page and used lots of circles and 3x4 pieces of paper. I have nothing larger than 3x4 on this page.

You can see in this picture below that I created some circle shapes from the 3x4 journal cards and that just allows me to create my own larger diecuts. I love doing this on my pages. I added pop dots under my stickers for dimension.

I hope you like my page. If you are looking for a new collection pack to play with – You NEED to add this one to the list. It is filled with color, patterns, and adorable stickers!

With this Mama Llama Kit I also created 2 cards. My first card is Happy Mama’s Day.

I wanted color on my card and decided to use 4 pieces of paper for my background. I did add some sewing and cut my pieces at an angle to create visual interest.

I wanted to add a diecut sticker to my card by the background was a bit busy. I created a small circle tag to place on top of my card base and was able to then add popdots to my sticker to create dimention. I didn’t have any flower stickers left so instead I cut up a piece of 3x4 journal card that had flowers. I placed them underneat my title. I love this card!

My second card is Happy Mother’s Day. I did not use any pattern paper for this card. I used 4 diecut stickers and some distress ink. I created a background scene with some distress ink, I added a little flag banner at the top. The Llama was for sure going to stand on a mound of sand and my little Happy Mother’s Day title is to the left of the cute little Llama! I hope you enjoyed my layouts today and please visit @SimpleStories_ on instagram and come find me as well @KristineDavidson .

Have a great day!
