Dorymar Perez's Blog Posts

Hi everyone!  It's Dorymar, back to share my Summer Sn@p album with you.  The Sunshine and Blue Skies Collection is so fun, the colors, all the palm trees, the sun, the phrases are amazing.  These pages were especially fun for me to create because Summer is my favorite season. I’m from the Caribbean and the warm weather, beaches and sand are my life.

When I first saw the New Robins Eggs Sn@p Binder it goes perfectly with this collection.  One of the things I love the most in creating a Sn@p Album it’s to decorate the cover.  In this case I use the cute pool people from the Bits and Pieces and the colorful surf boards form the 4x6 card and put them together.  Then I added the Summer Word from the Sticker Sheet and the results were fantastic.

Another thing that I like best about Sn@p binders is the natural color because I can paint it and combine it with any collection. In this case I painted all the edges of the binder and the dividers with white color that go perfectly with this collection.

The binders have a lot of space for photos and to document stories, but I always like to add custom pockets and flaps for photos. In the spread on the right side I create a flap with the 3x4 card and in the other side I put some pieces to gives a different touch. I love the tags, always in my projects you can find them in any space.  In this case in the 6x8 layout, I used the 4x4 card to create a pocket with a tag.  I add ribbons and elements of the collection to give a fun look.

Also, I love to create layouts inside the binder using the dividers of the binder as a base. This adds fun spaces for photos and other ways of working with the elements of the collection. I love how all the elements match together and how they look with all the layers.

I created a flap using the Navy/Emerald paper as a base to add space for picture and journaling, the fun 2x2 cards have many fun summer phrases. I decorated the belly band with a few die cuts from the bits and pieces.

I used the fun pieces of the collection to create a fun collage on the left side of the space for a picture, then added some word stickers from the Combo Sticker Sheet to decorate it.

For the full page 6x8 layout I embellished with the chipboard stickers and some coordinating bits to keep that summer feel.

I hope you enjoyed the project and I also hope it inspired you to use this fun collection. Please come join us on Social Media @simplestories_ and myself @dorymar_pl.

Hello everyone!!! Its Dorymar here today sharing a colorful Snap album with the AMAZING “Oh Happy Day Collection”. I love all the elements in this collection, they are so beautiful!

I selected the new Pink Snap Binder for this project because it is very bright and matches perfect with this collection. One of the things I enjoy most when I am preparing a Snap Album, is to make the cover. In this case the theme of the album is life, happiness and moments.

For the cover I used many elements of the collection and added many layers to make the project more fun!  I used pieces from die cuts, chipboards, stickers, 3x4, 4x4 and 2x2 journaling cards. I love how the elements, colors and designs combine perfectly to make a wonderful project!

I enjoy creating full scrapbook page so the snap dividers and the 6x8 spread give me the space I need to create a smaller scrapbook page.  I love how I can add elements and message clusters of my photos and journaling space.

The sticker sheet, 2x2 cards and die cuts are perfect for embellishing. The papers are perfectly coordinated to mix and match, in these pages you can see how the different patterns of the collection kit look and give you a lot to play with. I gave a final touch adding enamel dots and washi tape. I love the results!

I love the colors in this collection!!  That touch of black between the pink, green and teal give an amazing look!

One of the things I love the most is to make my personalized spreads, I combine the 4x4 cards with the 2x2 cards and to add more fun space. This allows me to create shakers between the photos, journaling and decorations.  Looks fantastic!

In this case I cut the 6x8 spread at 4 ¾ “and created four 2x2 spaces and one 4x4 space, then I added some cards and sequins.  It’s so fun!

I hope you enjoyed the project and I also hope it inspired you to use this A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. collection. Please come join us on Social Media @simplestories_ and myself @dorymar_pl.

Hello everyone! It’s Dorymar Pérez here today and I couldn't be more EXCITED to be back with the Simple Stories Design team, a group of amazing and talented designers! I’ve always LOVED Simple Stories and being part of this team for the 2nd time is a dream come true!

For my first blog post this year, I want to share a beautiful and chunky album I designed with the Say Cheese 4 Collection. The collection is absolutely stunning: it is fun, colorful and playful – perfect to document those magical memories!

I selected the Say Cheese 4 6x8 Album for my project and embellished its cover with a piece of the All Smiles Patterned Paper, the castle card from the 4x4 Elements Paper, and different elements from the Bits & Pieces and the Happy Kids Bits & Pieces. Then, I added “Magical Memories” from the 6x2 Chipboard Word Stickers and some rhinestones. I love how it turned out!

When I travel, I like to keep memorabilia from my trip, so I used a black cardstock to create a big pocket and two small ones on the inside cover.  I wanted it to look like a traveler’s journal, with cute embellishments from the collection.

For the left page of the next spread, I used both sides of the All Smiles Patterned Paper, the back of the 2x2 Elements Paper, elements from the Bits & Pieces and stickers. When working with the Simple Stories albums, I like to embellish even more the sn@p pages that come with the album, so I used stickers, Bits & Pieces, patterned paper and a piece of yellow ribbon to make it stand out more.

The next spread has a combination of a sn@p page and a pocket page. As you can see throughout my project, I try to always maximize the elements of the collection. I am also a huge fan of clustering embellishments and fussycutting those images from the patterned paper that I really like. This gives dimension to the pages and provides an interactive look to the project.

When I designed this project, I wanted to create pages for the different activities that we enjoyed in the Happiest place on Earth.  In the following photos, you’ll see pages dedicated to document everything from waiting in line for the rides, photos with characters, autographs, food, etc.  I used the collection’s washi tape to decorate some of the pages - it is so cute!  Also, I added yellow ribbon, twine and buttons to add more dimension to the pages.

This was so much fun!  I hope you like this album as much as I enjoyed designing it and that it inspired you to create!
