Kristine Davidson's Blog Posts

Hello Friends!

It's Kristine Davidson with you today and I am here to share a pocket page spread featuring the Happy SN@P! Pack!  At first I looked at the colors in this kit and really wasn't sure. I'm not much of a fan of pastel colors but this certainly fooled me! Once I started using it and adding my own personal touch to the cards It turned out - Awesome!

When I started my spread I wanted to add a few wood veneers but wanted a bit more color to match the papers so i took a few from the Say Cheese II collection and spray painted them. Super easy to do and adds a bit more color to your project.

This spread is from the month of May 2015, and I'm still on track doing my monthly spreads instead of weekly and I am enjoying it so far. This month of May I had a few things going on and one of them was a little photo shoot with my nieces and nephew. In order to add all those photos in my spread I created a little 6x12" pocket. Here are a few close up pictures of the left hand side of my spread. - I added a few doodles on the cards and some ink splats as well. No sewing this time ;-)

Here's the right side of my spread -

Now for the fun part. I took a pocket page protector and cut it in half.  I wanted to add extra photos to my monthly spread and this was the perfect way to do so. I didn't want smaller photos or not include them in my spread so I added an extra pocket measuring 6" wide x 12". It was perfect!

Here I have the 6x12" page front and back

Here it the pocket page inserted in my album in the middle of my spread.

and to show you the finished pages - including the 6x12 pocket page

Hello Friends!

It's Kristine with you today and I am here to share a pocket page spread featuring a variety of collections today. I used Say Cheese II, and I AM Collections. I have the month of April in my spread today.  April was a quick month for me, I  was able to enjoy time with friends at a crop and some much needed time with my sister and her kids.

My spread is colorful this month. I used lots of colors to feature the pictures and to make it a fun spread. I love color and these colors in the collection are so bright and cheerful.

A fun thing to do in a pocket page is confetti! Lots of fun elements to create a great  " interactive" pocket!

I included a few diecuts, some silhouette cut words and numbers, punched out confetti as well as wood veneers. It's fun to include these items in a pocket page spread! Have you ever created a confetti pocket? Don't forget to sew the top of the pocket so your items don't fall out ;-)

Here are a few close ups  of my spread.

Hello Friends!

It's Kristine with you today and I am here to share a pocket page spread featuring another NEW SN@P! Pack - Lovely! I love the SN@P! Packs because they have everything you need to complete a page spread and more!  It contains Bits & Pieces, cards of all sizes and of course you can also create a layout with the leftovers!

The month of March for me was a good one, I enjoyed time with friends, family and kept myself busy.  I found that a complete spread was enough for me and leaving out the minor details was okay. This spread captures what I want to remember and I can always add more later if i want to ;-)

I kept the inserts the same on both pages this month. I love the 4x4 size to add those instagram pics and also trimmed 4x6 photos.

What i did differently this month is doodle! I went to a crop a few weeks ago and I created 2 layouts that were filled with doodles and I LOVED IT! The process was so easy, kind of liberating and fun. I decided to add some of those doodles in my spread this month. All my cards are traced with a black pen and I also added details around the images and diecuts.

Did you know that Simple Stories has a great Photo Crops for your pocket pages and layouts? YES! they do... simply place on your photo and cut to size!  There's also a video that show you how fun & easy they are to use.

Here are a few more of my pages featuring some Doodles and Stitching.

I hope you enjoyed my post today and I hope you enjoy creating with your favorite Simple Stories Products!
