Tara Chaussee's Blog Posts

Hi everyone! Tara here with Secretbees Studio.  If you're reading this blog, chances are you are a crafty person and Simple Stories has come up with the most adorable paper collection to celebrate this way of life! It is full of ridiculously cute icons and embellishments not to mention the super punny ( and funny) sentiments! It is also the perfect paper collection for hosting your very own crafty party! What could be better than getting together with your friends and making pretty things? Adding in the cutest invitations and decorations, I say!

The invitations were printed on heavy card stock in colors that would complement the collection.  I then layered those over two different pieces of the lovely patterned papers. I added in a couple of the stickers from the 4x6 pad on each of the invites and then topped the whole thing off with a decorative band that is embellished with images from the Bits & Pieces along with chipboard stickers and the collection stickers. So stinking' cute!

To top off the darling invitations, I used a Spellbinders basket die to make these delightful sewing baskets as party favors! Each was cut from more of the adorable patterned paper and then trimmed and adorned with more of the charming icon stickers. Each basket holds a bit of twine, buttons, a glue stick and some washi tape- everything your guests need to get their craft on! I even tucked in some chocolate of course.

Run, don't walk, to your nearest craft store to pick up this collection! You will literally swoon over its cuteness!

Hi everyone! Tara aka Secretbees Studio! I have a new mini scrapbook to share today and it is a cutie! All of this cold weather has put me in the mood to scrap some winter photos with the adorable and charming 'Sub Zero' paper collection from Simple Stories! The bright colors, cute critters and fun motifs are perfect for preserving all of your winter adventures!

I created a staggered chipboard mini with some album builder Accu-Cut dies for lots of visual interest. This way you can see from one glance all of the colorful and snow-themed pages! Each page has a different shape and is covered in the fun patterned paper and then embellished to the hilt with all of the sweet  chipboard, bits & pieces and sticker designs!

There is definitely a 100% chance of fun creating with this collection! I used it here to document a ski vacation our family took but it would also be wonderful to show off those fun snow days full of sledding, snowman building and snowball fights!

Hi everyone! Tara here with Secretbees Studio  Hope you all are having a wonderful New Year! I know we just finished a busy holiday season but I am here to remind you that it's not too early to start creating for Valentine's Day! What's not to love about this holiday?! It's all about the love and happiness we have for the most special people in our lives. I so enjoy making fun and adorable gifts for this holiday! The 'Romance' paper collection from Simple Stories is super charming and lovely with its pastel colors, floral bouquets, hearts and butterflies! The sentiments in this collection are sweet and endearing- perfect for a loved one! Even better when they come attached to a cute gift!

I used my Silhouette Cameo and an SVGcuts file to make this super sweet flower candy holder and little mailbox! The base for the flowers was cut out of the beautiful 'Romance' papers and wrapped around some floral foam. How perfect that there was a wood print in the collection! I used three different patterns for the flowers and topped them all with a yummy truffle! A chocolate kiss or even conversation hearts would be great too! Layered stickers and ephemera embellish the front and sides of the tiny flower garden.

The mailbox stands 7.5" tall and actually opens! The front is decorated with one of the 3x4 journal cards in the collection as well as some of the adorable stickers and 'bits & pieces'!. The hanging key is one of the lovely stickers and is attached to the lid with a chain. More stickers and 'bits & pieces' adorn the top and inside of the mailbox as well. I also added in lots of pretty sequins for shine! You could stuff this mailbox with more sweet treats but I thought it was perfect to tuck in some love notes also made from the collection. There is plenty of room for lots of sweet notes for that special person in your life and the sentiments in this collection say all you want in the sweetest way!

Handcrafted gifts are a great way to show your love and a sure bet to get some in return! Wishing you all a love filled Valentine’s Day!
