Tara Chaussee's Blog Posts

Hi everyone! Tara here with Secretbees Studio  Hope you all are having a wonderful New Year! I know we just finished a busy holiday season but I am here to remind you that it's not too early to start creating for Valentine's Day! What's not to love about this holiday?! It's all about the love and happiness we have for the most special people in our lives. I so enjoy making fun and adorable gifts for this holiday! The 'Romance' paper collection from Simple Stories is super charming and lovely with its pastel colors, floral bouquets, hearts and butterflies! The sentiments in this collection are sweet and endearing- perfect for a loved one! Even better when they come attached to a cute gift!

I used my Silhouette Cameo and an SVGcuts file to make this super sweet flower candy holder and little mailbox! The base for the flowers was cut out of the beautiful 'Romance' papers and wrapped around some floral foam. How perfect that there was a wood print in the collection! I used three different patterns for the flowers and topped them all with a yummy truffle! A chocolate kiss or even conversation hearts would be great too! Layered stickers and ephemera embellish the front and sides of the tiny flower garden.

The mailbox stands 7.5" tall and actually opens! The front is decorated with one of the 3x4 journal cards in the collection as well as some of the adorable stickers and 'bits & pieces'!. The hanging key is one of the lovely stickers and is attached to the lid with a chain. More stickers and 'bits & pieces' adorn the top and inside of the mailbox as well. I also added in lots of pretty sequins for shine! You could stuff this mailbox with more sweet treats but I thought it was perfect to tuck in some love notes also made from the collection. There is plenty of room for lots of sweet notes for that special person in your life and the sentiments in this collection say all you want in the sweetest way!

Handcrafted gifts are a great way to show your love and a sure bet to get some in return! Wishing you all a love filled Valentine’s Day!

Hi everyone! It’s Tara with Secretbees Studio and I have the sweetest tags to share today! Christmas is getting closer and it is never too early to start the wrapping of your gifts. Sometimes, instead of using fancy paper, I prefer just kraft and then I can really light up the packages with super cute tags! And the ‘Very Merry’ collection is full of the most adorable holiday images in awesome traditional colors!

Tags are the perfect way to use up your small paper scraps and left over embellishments from a collection! I had already used the ‘Very Merry’ collection on another project but held on to those last few pieces of patterned paper and decorative pieces I had left. I took some large manila tags and small white tags that I had in my stash and just got busy adding scraps and stickers and ephemera galore! All of the pieces in this collection look so beautiful together!

I did add in a few tiny details in the form of wooden stars and hearts, colorful enamel dots and festive twine. I also couldn’t resist making lots of paper curls to give these tags that final flair! The backs of the tags are totally blank so I have plenty of room to write in the lucky recipients name. Now to just get the Christmas shopping done! Thanks for visiting!

Hi everyone! It’s Tara from Secretbees Studio and I’m here to show you how you can take your favorite Simple Stories paper collections and create your own Travelers notebook! Travelers Notebooks are not just for journaling- they are so awesome for collecting memories, thoughts and mementos and you can fill them with pictures too. This gorgeous notebook showcases the 'Beautiful' paper collection from Simple Stories along with its stunning stickers, chipboard and Bits and Pieces!

I used sturdy chipboard to create the covers and spine of the notebook along with a few other supplies like sticky back canvas, bookbinding tape and elastic cord. I also added some plain paper inserts to my notebook that I covered with more of the gorgeous ‘Beautiful’ patterned paper.

There is also a hand crafted paper insert in the center of this notebook with folding pages, pull-outs and pockets! More room for all of your favorite memories using the papers and embellishments from the collection! Please visit my youtube channel for a full video tutorial on how to create this beautiful Travelers Notebook! Thanks for visiting!
