Jana Eubank's Blog Posts

Hello, friends! Jana Eubank here. I have been holding out for the perfect collection to scrapbook these photos of my daughter all dressed up for a dance in her beautiful, deep purple dress ... And then the Bliss collection came along with it's gorgeous purple flower accents. It was PERFECT!

Of course I had lots of fun photos for this page, but managed to narrow it down to the five you see here. I chose to create three clusters of photos in this page design, to highlight the three different types of shots I took.

In the top left, is a close-up of her FAVORITE part of the outfit that day ... her shoes! I treated this photo extra special by underscoring it with the chipboard banner piece.

I fussy cut several butterflies from the Enjoy the Ride paper to use as accents around the page. I love the slight wash of watercolor they have and the movement they add to this layout.

Three smaller photos clustered together with the chipboard title anchor the bottom of this page design. More butterflies accent this part of this page, as well as a sticker phrase that fits my daughter AND the Bliss collection perfectly ... they are both "Simply Fabulous!"

Even though there are a lot of photos on this page, I still managed to make the main photo the focal point by matting it with several layers of patterned paper. I love the way the patterns of the Bliss collection play off one another!

Hello, Simple Stories Scrappers! Jana Eubank here with a fun way to add additional photos or journaling to a scrapbook page.

My youngest daughter did the most adorable thing for our family last St. Patrick's Day. She made signs and love notes for each person telling us how much she loves us and how lucky she feels to be in our family.

I used pictures of her holding a "Happy St. Patrick's Day, Family!" sign for the main photos on this page, but I also wanted to include images of the other notes she had created. My solution? Tags!

I used a manual die cut machine to create a couple of tags (you could also use tags purchased from an office supply store), added photos and journaling to them, and then tucked them in between the layers of my page design!

Next, I used the "LOVE" letters from the St. Patrick's Day 6x12 Stickers as the main word in my title, Then I sprinkled the floral and heart stickers around the page for a girly feel!

I loved the navy 3x4 journaling card with the rows of shamrocks with a single heart and wanted to incorporate it into my page design somehow. I decided to place it to the right of my photos as an additional background layer.

Next, I punched the "charmed life" circle from another 3x4 Journaling Card to add navy to the other side of the page. The "So Very Lucky" banner sticker below the title repeats the navy color around the page, grounding the design and creating a visual triangle.

Have you created a page lately about the people that you feel "lucky" to know? The St. Patrick's Day Simple Set is the perfect way to do it!

Hello! I hope you are having a great week! Jana Eubank here with a snowy scrapbook page using the Sub Zero collection.

I am in love with the colors of this collection! They have been perfect for scrapbooking my son's love of snowboarding. His jacket just happens to be a lime green ... one of the amazing accent colors that makes working with this collection so much fun!

I created a title for my page by using a circular metal die to cut out the "Chills & Thrills" wording from one of the cards of the 4x6 Vertical Elements paper. Next, I matted it with red cardstock and then built a scene around it using snowflakes, pine trees, and a car from the Bits & Pieces pack, Combo Sticker sheet, and 6x12 Chipboard sheet.

My main photo had a lot of white space around my subject. I took advantage of that space by overlapping the left side of the picture with another scene using the adorable A-frame cabin and pine tree die cuts. The "Up to Snow Good" arrow phrase is so punny ... I just couldn't resist using it here! Ha ha! (Especially, since my son usually ditches school to go snowboarding ... shhh!)

This snowboarding polar bear looks like he has a fun personality! He is cool as can be and somebody I'd love to hang out with on the slopes!
