Jana Eubank's Blog Posts

What do you do when you can't decide which patterned papers to use on your layout? Use them all! Hi! It's Jana Eubank. When I began this page, I could not decide which patterned paper to cut into first. I love them all! So, ... I decided to use them all by creating a quilt-inspired background. Keep reading to find out how!

First, I pulled out all of the papers from the 6x8 paper pad that had full patterns on both sides. I then punched twenty 3" circles from the patterned papers. Next, I scored the circles at 0.5" on four sides. After scoring, fold each "petal" in towards the center creating a square shape with four "petals." After all of your circles are folded, line them up in rows to create the background.

I matted my photo with the Black/Cream Paper and two more patterns from the 6x8 paper pad. I cut two journal blocks from the 3x4 Elements Paper and 4x6 Elements Paper. One block houses my journaling and the other holds my title.

Next, I embellished my photo and the title block with the Floral Bits & Pieces die cuts. I added a punched flower to each of the large blue flowers for dimension, then finished them off with a black enamel dot center.

This page has so much texture and dimension with the folded circles. I just LOVE it! Try giving this technique a try on your next scrapbook page!

Hello, Simple Stories Fans! It's Jana Eubank. With four children and several commitments, like most couples, my husband and I can have a hard time finding one-on-one time with one another. But the great thing is when we do have time together we just pick up right where you left off. I feel lucky and blessed to have built a life with my best friend and wanted to record my feelings on this page using the beautiful Kissing Booth collection.

The florals in this collection are incredible! I fussy-cut the largest floral from the Always Be True paper to accent the top left corner of my photo.

I cut out the "LOVE" tiles and the "Every Love Story" quote from the 4x4 Elements paper to use as a title and subtitle, accenting them with Bits & Pieces die cuts and stickers from the Combo Sticker sheet.

I placed everything on a large block of Love Day paper (pink text) and then capped off the top and bottom with strips of the black and white ticking stripe from the 4x6 Vertical Elements paper. I then added computer-generated journaling strips below.

This Valentine's Day be sure to grab a selfie with your sweetheart and then use the Kissing Booth collection to create a page about how thankful you are to have that person in your life!

Hello Scrappers! Jana Eubank here. When I think back to the winter days of my childhood, I fondly remember playing for what seemed like hours out in the snow. Now that I am a mom, I realize that I probably was only out there for about 20 minutes before I was ready to come back inside for a mug of hot cocoa. Ha! At least, that was the way it was when my own children were young.

For today's page, I pulled out some older photos of my girls frolicking in the snow in our yard. The Freezin' Season collection complimented their brightly-colored snowsuits perfectly!

Even though my journaling for this page is a bit snarky, I assure my girls that I still love them "snow much" with this cute banner die cut from the Bits & Pieces pack. I stitched around the edges of the paper layers with black thread to tie them in with the black lines of the adorable hand drawn art in this collection.

I love this chipboard snowglobe with it's cozy little house. Looking at the wisp of smoke coming from the chimney makes me think of the smell of chimney smoke outside on a cold winter day! I added the pair of snowmen, fussy-cut from one of the 4x4 Elements cards, to mimic my girls in the photo.

I used the "SNOW" sticker word, combined with a word I created with my electronic die cutting machine for the title. I used large circle punches to create the journal spot and then accented it with pine trees cut from the 4x4 Elements cards and a pair of snowflake circle die cuts from the Bits & Pieces Pack.

I love scrapbooking photos of my kids playing in the snow and need to make a point to get out there this winter with my camera. Have you snapped any winter photos lately?

Thanks for coming by today!
