Jana Eubank's Blog Posts

Trick or treat, she's so sweet! The new Happy Haunting collection was perfect for scrapbooking these two cute friends who decided to put together their own gypsy costumes for Halloween one year. Hi, everyone! It's Jana Eubank. It was so much fun listening to these two girls giggle and squeal as they ran back and forth to each other's houses digging through their skirts, scarves, and their mom's jewelry and makeup putting together the perfect gypsy ensemble.

Do you sometimes feel like that when you're scrapbooking? Like you have to dig and dig to find just the right pieces for your project? Stop digging and grab yourself a collection kit by Simple Stories. The simple, yet brilliant, patterns make it a snap to document your memories!

Time and time again I reach for the Snap Basics Paper Pack for the backgrounds for my layouts. Not only do I love a neutral, clean background, but I adore the built in journaling lines!

I have been enjoying adding torn bits to my pages lately. This technique is a simple way to add texture to a design. Here I tore a strip of the Fright Night paper to go across the top of my page. There was one spot where the tear curved upwards. Instead of letting it bother me, I ran with it and added a few tab stickers from the Combo Sticker Sheet to fill it in. What a fun detail!

I couldn't WAIT to try out the 6x6 Stencil from this collection. The bats in flight were just calling my name. I used a dauber with a black ink pad to create the pattern and then splattered some mist over the top.

Next, I used the chipboard phrase for my title (SWOON!) and then cut out a few of the larger designs from the 4x4 Elements paper decorate the space below. These larger elements are anchored on the chipboard banner and then accented with a pumpkin and floral cluster sticker (Combo Sticker Sheet).

One of my favorite things about this collection is the soft touches of pink. I love how the shades of pink pick up the girls' youthful skin. The pink also adds a feminine, flirty touch!

The Happy Haunting collection was such a fun way to take a break from the summer heat and has me counting down to the cooler days ahead!

Thanks for coming by!

Camping in the mountains is one of my favorite places to be! The fresh air, the slower pace, the night sky exploding with stars, and the sound of a crackling campfire all inspire me to soak up life and reset my way of thinking. Hi, Everyone! It's Jana Eubank! The NEW Happy Trails collection, with its cheerful colors and images, makes me want to pack up the trailer right now and head out for a weekend in the woods!

This page features photos of my son when he was younger fishing at a small roadside pond near one of our favorite camping sites. There he could catch and release as many fish as he would like and was his FAVORITE thing to do on our camping trips.

I LOVE every single pattern in the Happy Trails collection and wanted to find a way to include as many of them as I could on this page. I created a triangle-shaped template that I used to create long pennant shapes to go across the top of my page. I added a few red gem brads to one of them and a cluster of stickers and Bits & Pieces die cuts on another.

I fussy-cut this large floral from the 4x4 Elements paper to accent the left side of my photo strip. I added a red gem brad to the center of the yellow flower and then added  word die cuts to fill in the empty space in the top right corner of my photo.

I added the "Gone Fishing" die cut below the two smaller photos, along with a bit of journaling on the plaid journal block from the Journal Bits & Pieces pack. I fussy cut the fish from another die cut to accent the right side, and then tucked in a flower sticker on the right.

On the left side, I created a fun little sticker forest scene with the raccoon and a pair of fluffy pine trees. CUTE!

I almost always create three embellishment clusters in my page designs, and when I do, I like to add something that ties them all together. In this case, I used the ADORABLE mosquito die cuts! (Probably, the one and only time I will think mosquitos are adorable. Ha!)  How cute are they buzzing around each section of this page?!

If you haven't had a chance to get out and do some camping yet this summer season, I think the Happy Trails collection gives you the perfect reason to go! *wink!* Get out there and take some outdoorsy photos so you can come home and scrapbook them with this amazing collection! Happy Camping!

Hello, Simple Stories Fans! Jana Eubank here with a brand new layout featuring the Cruisin' Collection.

Each time one of my children graduate from high school, we plan a big family trip to celebrate! My son graduated from high school this year, so we planned a Caribbean cruise. The photos on this layout today feature the excitement we all felt as we boarded the cruise ship.

I LOVE using lots of patterned paper in my scrapbook designs, but to make those patterns really SHINE, you need to give the eye a rest by incorporating solid colors as well. This is why I love the Simple Basics Kit so much! I used all three papers in the Simple Basics Kit on this page. I used the Navy/Yellow paper for the background, and then layered up the Red/Blue paper and the Teal/Cream paper as photo mats behind my main photo.

I then created an embellishment cluster across the top of my photo with the sun, cloud, and phrase stickers from the Combo Sticker Sheet, as well as a few chipboard hearts and enamel dots.

I decided to do something a bit different for my journaling on this layout. Instead of using one large journaling block, I layered together three different journaling shapes from the Bits & Pieces. I LOVE the way this turned out! The different shapes stacked together are so CUTE!

I then accented the top of the horizontal photo with the "Anchors Aweigh" phrase (Bits & Pieces), a heart sticker (Combo Stickers), chipboard pieces, and a sprinkling of enamel dots.

I placed the chipboard phrase "Bon Voyage" along with the chipboard cruise ship at the bottom of the vertical photo for my page title. Next, I tucked in a few stickers behind the photo mat layers to the right of the title and then added tone-on-tone navy enamel dots to the ship and page background. (It's amazing the fun texture and shine you can add with just a few enamel dots! I love those things SO MUCH!!!)

To cap off my design, I added strips of the yellow/white striped AHOY paper across the top and bottom of the page.

Simple Stories makes scrapbooking so much FUN! What memories will YOU capture today?!
