Jana Eubank's Blog Posts

Hello! Jana Eubank here. My favorite season is right around the corner and I just couldn't wait to get cozy in my scrapbook room and do a little fall scrapping with the Old School and Spellbound collections

HIGH SCHOOL

The Old School collection was absolutely PERFECT for these photos of my son on his first day of high school last year.

I adore the variety of school supplies included on the Old School 6x12 Sticker sheet. I layered a composition notebook and pencil below a clock I cut out from the 3x4 & 4x6 Journaling Card Elements paper.

I used the "school" script word as part of my title adding it on top of the ruler sticker from the 6x12 Sticker sheet. The title and photos are anchored to the page with several strips of the ABC 123 Paper.

I also created a cluster of school supplies at the bottom of the page and accented them by cutting out the chalkboard doodled stars from the patterned side of the 3x4 & 4x6 Journaling Card Elements paper

Finally, I sprinkled a bit of mist around the page along with the star stickers accented with clear gems.

GHOULS NIGHT OUT

Halloween happens to be my favorite holiday and the one where I take the most pictures, so of course I couldn't wait to pull out a few snapshots from last year and play with the Spellbound collection!

I love the ornate frame stickers in this collection. I chose to fill the openings with the damask pattern of the 3x4 & 4x6 Journaling Card Elements paper and add additional stickers around them to create two clusters on my page. The first cluster is at the top left of my page ...

... and the second is to the right of the photos. Both clusters include a frame, pumpkin, purple roses, word stickers, and a sprinkling of bats and purple gems to tie them in with one another.

The other black and white elements in each cluster also tie them together, but add variety to each cluster at the same time.

I added in a title created from purple cardstock and my electronic die cutting machine. I layered this on top of the photos and decorative elements in order to connect the grouping together.

More purple gems are sprinkled around the black and white stickers below my journaling. It almost feels like the bubbles of a witch's brew around the page! Spooky!

Have you started to think about what you want to be for Halloween this year?

Supplies

Hi, Everyone! Jana Eubank here. This year our family took a road trip through the beautiful mountains of Colorado. Being in the mountains is my favorite place to be! I love enjoying the fresh air along with the sights and sounds of nature. You can bet that I took a lot of photos on that trip that I couldn't wait to scrapbook using the Cabin Fever collection.

ADVENTURE

The first thing I did was to pull out the Bits & Pieces pack. I sifted through all of the designs and selected several that went along with my photos. The red checked geotag die cut was perfect for calling attention to the photos of this beautiful waterfall.

I die cut the title from the Summer Camp Paper (red buffalo check) using my Silhouette Cameo 3 Electronic Die Cutting machine and the "Adventure" cut file by Simple Stories found here in the Silhouette Design Store (Design #199552). I added a pinecone decorative brad to the left side of the title.

I then used more Bits & Pieces die cuts and stickers from the Combo Sticker Sheet to create two clusters around the bottom of my photos. The floral clusters and word phrases are repeated in both clusters to tie things together.

This next page features a few snapshots taken closer to home ... in fact, they were taken in our backyard last fall as we enjoyed the fire pit one cool night.

FIRE PIT

I wanted a plain cardstock background, but decided to make it a little more interesting by die cutting stars all over it. I placed a second sheet of the same color of cardstock behind the die cut piece. The result is a subtle tone-on-tone texture that doesn't take away too much attention from the photos.

At the top of the photos I added the heart sticker matted with white cardstock. I added the date and a decorative brad for a bit of dimension.

I used my scissors to cut the fire from the 4x6 Vertical Elements Paper. It was the perfect size to accent my title! I couldn't resist adding the chipboard piece with the  marshmallows on a stick above it. Too cute!

At the bottom of the page I layered up a few chipboard pieces. Two wood slice circles overlap each other and anchor the rectangle chipboard piece. I love what it says! "Life is better by a campfire" So true!

I cut the journal block from the 4x6 Horizontal Elements paper and added it to the right of the photos. I used a black pen to handwrite my journaling and then accented the bottom with the Roughin' It washi tape and a floral sticker.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you leave feeling inspired to pull out those outdoor photos and get them scrapbooked!

Hi everyone! Jana Eubank here. The kids are out of school and the iconic question that goes "Mooom, what are we going to do today?" has already begun in our household. Haha! I don't know about you, but even though I love summer, when it's especially hot outside I think I'd rather stay in with the air conditioning and play with my scrapbook supplies!

Today I have a couple of layouts to share with you featuring the bright and happy colors of summer. This first on uses the Emoji Love collection.

WOW! WHAT A FUN DAY

All of my four kids' birthdays are in the summer. My oldest daughter has taken it upon herself to start a new tradition with her siblings by taking each one of them out for a special outing to celebrate their birthdays. On this day she took her youngest sister to lunch and to do a little bit of shopping.

While they were out together they took lots of selfies of their adventure ... which, of course, always includes silly faces! These are the kind of shots that are perfect to use with this darling collection!

I used the two speech bubble die cuts, "Love" and "Yay!" above this photo ... my daughter had picked up a pack of Pokemon cards while they were at Target and had scored a very RARE card. This is the celebratory selfie shot from that moment. Haha!

I used the striped Be a Unicorn paper to mat the largest photo, and then used the solid color 3x4 cards from the 3x4 Journaling Card Elements paper to mat the two smaller photos. I placed the two smaller photos on either side of the larger main photo and then layered up lots of delicious patterned papers behind them: the Choose Happy Paper, Yay Paper, Ha Ha Paper, and Be a Unicorn Paper (script). I tilted each of the layers differently for a bit of fun.

In the upper right corner I added a winky face, a epoxy metal clip, a sticker from the 4x6 stickers and a few enamel dots.

I cut out the script "Wow!" word from one of the 4x6 cards from the SN@P! pack for the first part of my title. For the second part, I used the pink letter stickers from the 4x6 sticker pack. The nail polish bottle die cut to the left of the title is a nod to the shopping they did on this day.

What kid doesn't spend many of their summer days riding their bike around the neighborhood with their friends?!  I gotta tell you ... every time I flip through the Summer Days collection I just get a smile on my face. I love this collection so much! I couldn't wait to play with it on this next layout!

First, I matted my photos with the diagonal stripe of the Sunny Days Paper and then adhered the them to the sweet yellow floral Hello Sunshine Paper. This floral has my heart. It was the perfect backdrop for these photos of my daughter on her bike.

I accented the top of the photos in the upper right corner with a bit of the striped Good Vibes Washi Tape and a couple of die cuts. The "Big Smiles" sticker is from the phrase stickers on the Combo Sticker Sheet.

I wanted to build a little scene in the bottom left corner of my photo strip. The sun looks like it is rising up over beach bus, beckoning you to come outside and play for the day!

I created my title on my electronic die cutting machine. I backed the openings of the letters with the pink chevron Summer Snapshots paper to tie it in with the same paper at the top of the page. A flamingo die cut and pinwheel stickers flank either side of the title ... and then a phrase sticker from the 4x6 stickers at the bottom of the title reminds you that it is definitely a beautiful day to get out and play in the sun!

I used a strip of the diagonal striped Sunny Days Paper to tie in with the photo mats at the top of the page and give the title and accents a place to rest.
