Hello, Simple Stories fans! Jana Eubank here with a fun summer project to create with your kids. Today I am sharing a Summer Treasure Box created with the Sunshine and Blue Skies collection. I adore the vibe of this collection! Not only is it perfect for creating seasonal summer projects, but with the palm trees and hibiscus flowers, it would be perfect for documenting your tropical vacation memories, too!

Every year my three daughters each create a treasure box to keep their summer and vacation mementos in. As we go on our family vacation, road trips, and other summer outings my girls place trinkets they have collected along the way inside.

Some of the things they have added to their boxes have been smooth rocks and seashells from a beach trip, amusement park and movie tickets, and even business cards from restaurants and stores that they want to remember. They love going through their boxes later and reminiscing about all of the places we have been. It's almost like their own little 3d scrapbook!

The Sunshine and Blue Skies papers were so cute for this box! I love the popsicle pattern of the 2x2 Elements paper on the lid and the Pool Party patterned paper on the inside. I feel like those happy swimmers are beckoning me to come join them in the pool every time I open it up. Awwww, summer!

I decorated the front of the box with the super-cute chipboard Ice Cream Truck, palm tree, and sun. I'm craving a frosty treat right now just looking at it!

If you're looking for a craft idea to do with the kids this summer, try making a Summer Treasure Box! Your children or grandchildren will love having a special place to store their mementos!

Hello everyone!!! Its Dorymar here today sharing a colorful Snap album with the AMAZING “Oh Happy Day Collection”. I love all the elements in this collection, they are so beautiful!

I selected the new Pink Snap Binder for this project because it is very bright and matches perfect with this collection. One of the things I enjoy most when I am preparing a Snap Album, is to make the cover. In this case the theme of the album is life, happiness and moments.

For the cover I used many elements of the collection and added many layers to make the project more fun!  I used pieces from die cuts, chipboards, stickers, 3x4, 4x4 and 2x2 journaling cards. I love how the elements, colors and designs combine perfectly to make a wonderful project!

I enjoy creating full scrapbook page so the snap dividers and the 6x8 spread give me the space I need to create a smaller scrapbook page.  I love how I can add elements and message clusters of my photos and journaling space.

The sticker sheet, 2x2 cards and die cuts are perfect for embellishing. The papers are perfectly coordinated to mix and match, in these pages you can see how the different patterns of the collection kit look and give you a lot to play with. I gave a final touch adding enamel dots and washi tape. I love the results!

I love the colors in this collection!!  That touch of black between the pink, green and teal give an amazing look!

One of the things I love the most is to make my personalized spreads, I combine the 4x4 cards with the 2x2 cards and to add more fun space. This allows me to create shakers between the photos, journaling and decorations.  Looks fantastic!

In this case I cut the 6x8 spread at 4 ¾ “and created four 2x2 spaces and one 4x4 space, then I added some cards and sequins.  It’s so fun!

I hope you enjoyed the project and I also hope it inspired you to use this A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. collection. Please come join us on Social Media @simplestories_ and myself @dorymar_pl.

Happy scrapping!

Hello friends! It's Jennifer with you today to share a layout I  created using the very fun Oh, Happy Day collection!  The bright patterns and whimsical embellishments are perfect for just about any theme or project! I  feel, too, that its a bit girly without being over the top!  I  scrapped photos of my teen daughter at her last birthday (and yes that is a Peppa Pig headband!) LOL

One of the many new additions to the larger Simple Stories lines is the Simple Basics Kit which includes coordinating solid papers.  I  don't know about you but I  rarely have matching cardstock so I'm very appreciative of this!  For my base, I  started with the Fuchsia from the Oh Happy Day Simple Basics Kit.  I  then added some strips of bright patterns at the bottom and stitched through with my sewing machine.  For my title, I  utilized the black script words from the 6x12 Chipboard.  You can also spy some of the coordinating Washi Tape which is a great way to accent your pages!

I  matted my photos with white cardstock along with backing them with patterned paper or a solid from the Simple Basics Kit.  I'm a fan of layering not only for additional color but also dimension.  I  snipped a portion of the border sticker on the Combo Sticker sheet and placed it in a spot between photos. Using pop dots, I added this fun die cut sign from the Bits and Pieces pack which includes a large variety of shapes and sentiments!

One of my favorite things about Oh Happy Day is the floral clusters!  I  used a few on my page around my photos and title.  Of course, I  pop dots were involved! The collection has many in the Bits and Pieces pack as well as on the Combo Sticker sheet!

Adding small stickers or die cuts at the top of a photo is a nice way to accent without being overbearing.  The little birds are adorable plus my daughter is a bird lover so I  had to add one to her page. I  also added a smaller flower with a pop dot as well.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today! Check out the entire Oh Happy Day collection by visiting the Products page!  You can also see what is up next for Simple Stories!  Have a great day!

Hi everyone! Tara here with Secretbees Studio and I am so excited to share my newest project with you! I made a travel folio mini scrapbook a while back and got so many requests to do a tutorial that I just had to make another. I used a different paper collection and made a few minor changes to the folio and it is stunning!

The paper collection used for this fabulous folio is the Simple Stories 'Simple Vintage Botanicals' paper collection. Oh em gee, this collection is so gorgeous and lush it's like being transported to a breathtaking garden full of beautiful butterflies and birds and all of the most vibrant colors of the earth! Plus this collection has so much to choose from- paper, stickers galore, chipboard, ephemera and more and there is even a clear stamp set to go with it!

This amazing book, which can be filled with photos, mementos or journaling, measures 5.25" by 7.75" when closed but the best part is when you open it up to see all of the pages and pockets inside! The cover of the book opens up to reveal pockets on both sides and another whole center section that has its own surprises. There is even a small notebook that is perfect for writing or drawing!

There are photo flips and frames and even a pocket page waiting to be filled with your favorite memories and there are some hidden pockets too that give you more room for precious mementos. I could go on and on about this amazing folio but the pictures show more detail than I could explain.

To really see this book in all of its ravishing detail, visit my YouTube channel and see a walk through and a tutorial!

Hi friends!  Nathalie here today with a new layout that celebrates Mom's Love, and what better way to document it than with the new Simple Stories "MOM'S DAY" collection.

The colors and florals in the Mom's Day collection were the inspiration for this layout all about  the relationship my sister and nephew are building.  For this I pulled a cut file from Handipaper to create the large title of the layout.

I used the papers (including the cut apart elements) to back the empty spaces of the cut out, and then decided to glue the title in the center of the background - Sn@p Basics Birch/ White Grid paper- with a bit of foam adhesive.

Before gluing the pictures down, I fussy cut lots of florals from the elements paper, and the My Mum paper; in addition, i also cut out the banners from the elements to use in the cluster and as part of the title.   I trimmed the edges of the background, and added strips of the Mom's Day collection to its sides.

The pictures were then glued on opposite sides of the title so that they form a vertical line on the page, and added the fussy cut florals and embellishments from the Mom's Day collection to just frame the pictures.  A few lines of journal and some pink gems complete the page.

The new Mom's Day collection  is simply perfect to document all your Mom special moments and the upcoming Mother's Day celebrations.  Hope you all have a blessed Mother's Day!

XO

Hi! It’s Jeanne here today!  I’m always excited to flip the calendar to reveal a new month.  Being a card maker my first thoughts go to holidays, and special occasions like birthdays.  It’s May and you know what that means right?  It’s time to Celebrate MOM!

There really is no way to thank Mom enough for all the wonderful things she does for me.  From the beginning she’s been my  cheerleader, always making me feel like I can do anything.  She treasured my creations even when she wasn’t sure what she was looking at.. carefully asking me to describe my drawings so she wouldn’t guess wrong.

She is still delighted with my hand made cards today.  I know that every one I send will be put in a place of honor in the kitchen where she can look at them every day.

The Simple Stories Mom’s Day 12” Collection Kit is a beautiful mix of florals, dots and plaids. The sentiments on the sticker sheet are my favorite!  I know these will have my mom smiling ear to ear! - “Mom gives the very best of hugs” - “No woman alive could take my momma’s place” - “I got it from my momma”.

This pinwheel is going to be placed inside a plant or vase of flowers (I haven’t decided yet).  It was made by trimming a 6x2” strip of four different papers.  I used a Fiskars border punch to trim one edge and then scored a line between each scallop.  Finally I “Z” folded and adhered the four strips together to make a circle.   I secured the center with hot glue and then added a punched circle and stickers to the center.  A twine wrapped skewer is hot glued to the reverse and a pretty bow completes the pinwheel.

The best gifts are from the heart and made with love.
