Jennifer Haggerty's Blog Posts

The holiday season is all about making memories and creating traditions!  I used the Very Merry collection to document one of my favorite family traditions: decorating Christmas cookies!

I love lots of layers! Here, I used the 3x4 Journaling Elements to add color and dimension to my page!  I accented with Bits and Pieces die cuts and coordinating stickers!

How beautiful are the Very Merry Washi Tapes? I love to add small snippets of washi tape to layer under my other embellishments!

Hello friends!  Jennifer on the blog today to share some pages I created with the new Vintage Blessings collection!  It's almost fall time where I live and I will tell you this is my favorite time of the year! The air is more crisp and the leaves are beginning to turn colors!  It also means beautiful fall colored scrapbook papers!  :)  Vintage Blessings has delicate, warm colors that are inviting and remind you of all of the fall themed activities!  Like most Simple Stories collections, you can use this line for just about any theme!

For my first layout "Blessings", I wanted to scrap a favorite photo from one of our fall traditions: homecoming!  I started with a kraft background and utilized the many beautiful patterns of Vintage Blessings!  I love using my Silhouette to use Simple Stories cut files that are available in shop!  I cut four small circles of the "Wreath" cut file (#214849) from the So Thankful sheet.  I adhered them randomly on my page allowing portions to "hang off" the cardstock.Layouts with Vintage

I stitched through each of the circles with my sewing machine and then added die cuts from the Bits and Pieces pack as well stickers from the Combo Sticker Sheet. I love all of the dainty little embellishments that are a part of the Simple Stories collections!

For my title, I used the "blessed" sentiment on the Combo Sticker Sheet popping it up with foam tape. I also love the smaller quote cards that are in the Bits and Pieces pack! Here, I added one to accent my title as well as one of the floral clusters.  The Combo Sticker Sheet also includes many colorful sentiment stickers such as the "making memories" one I used on my page.

How adorable is this die cut branch and bird from the Bits and Pieces pack?  I adhered them off the top edge of my photo to make a cute accent!  This would also be perfect to use on a card!

For my second layout "I Love Autumn", I scrapped another fall family tradition! When our kids were little, they LOVED jumping in a big pile of leaves!  Luckily, we lived in an older neighborhood and we had to do a lot of raking! I created a semi grid layout clustering my photos together.  I also used a strip of the multi-colored houses of Home Sweet Home along with the yellow plaid of So Very Blessed.

On my smaller square, I backed the gorgeous bird print of Gather Together onto one of the 4x4 Elements. This is a great way to utilize the Element Cards if you aren't doing pocket scrapbooking.  I then clustered my embellishments using both stickers and pieces from the 6x12 Chipboard.  I love the smaller fall colored leaves to use as accents.

Vintage Blessings doesn't disappoint with the washi tape!  How gorgeous is the blue on the Grateful Washi?  I used a strip at the top of one of my photos and layered stickers on top.

The Bits and Pieces pack has many journaling spots such as this "blessed" circle!  I adhered mine to the top of my photo to document the date as well as add a cute acorn and bakers twine.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you will check out Vintage Blessings in its entirety on the Products page as well as the rest of the new collections!  Have a great day!

Hello everyone! It's Jennifer and I'm on the blog today to share pages I created with the new Beautiful collection!  Can I first just talk about how amazingly gorgeous this line is?  I feel like it has a different feel with the muted pastel colors mixed in with gold foil!  The black and grays are wonderful for contrast, as well!  Beautiful is definitely a feminine collection but could be used for wedding or vintage themes too!

For my first layout, Amazing, I used one of the awesome Simple Stories Silhouette cut files for my background!  I used the Sectioned Heart Cut file first with my white cardstock background.  I love the many patterns in the Live Beautifully paper so I chose that to be my "insert pieces" for my cut file. I again cut the Sectioned Heart file with Live Beautifully so I could adhere each piece into the negative spaces. It is helpful to first adhere the white cardstock onto a second sheet of cardstock, as well.

Once my insert pieces were in place, I used my sewing machine to add a couple lines of stitching around my heart!

After adhering my photo, I added in die cuts from the Bits and Pieces pack including this gold foil script "Amazing" that I used for my title. I used a bit of foam tape to "pop" it up to add some dimension.

I love that the embellishments include many little accent pieces including stickers and die cut pieces! I kept with the heart them and added few to the top of my photo! You can also spy a tab sticker from the Combo Sticker sheet (which measures 12x12!).

Showing additional pieces from the Bits and Pieces pack!  I love the sentiment cards with their empowering statements!  I thought this was perfect for a page for my teen daughter!

For my second layout, Look For the Beautiful in Every Day, I was inspired by the circles in Simply Wonderful as well as the circle embellishments on the 6x12 Chipboard Sheet. I wanted to incorporated them all together without being too busy.  I again used my Silhouette and cut circle frames with Shine Bright which includes gold foil dots! The frames range from 2 1/2 to 4 inches in diameter; I also placed different patterns in the center of each frame.

Again, my daughter is the subject of my page! I hope that when she looks at her scrapbooks, she will see herself through my eyes! This is another reason why I love this collection so much! All of the little sentiments are perfect and what I think every parent wants to tell their child.  I used one of the sentiments stickers as my title; I love the deco shape and used pop dots to add dimension.

I also incorporated my different circle hand punches to layer more circles and add in those circle embellishments I first mentioned!  I also had some grey, gold, and white enamel dots in my stash that I added.

I'm a big fan of roller stamps and love using my Carpe Diem stamps to add little sentiments under my date!  You can also spy one of the many sentiment stickers found on the Combo Sticker sheet!  There are FIVE rows of different sayings all in the gorgeous colors of the collection!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you will check out this collection in its entirety!   And be sure to see the NEW and awesome lines Simple Stories has in store for this year!
Have a wonderful day!
