Life in Color Pocket Page Spread

Life in Color Pocket Page Spread

Hello dear Friends! This is Alexandra waving from Chicago and I have a brand new double-spread I would like to share with you.

For these pocket pages I have used the beautiful collection called: Life in Color which I think is perfect to showcase indoor and outdoor pictures of our daily life.

I have noticed that in the dead of winter,  pictures taken outside become rare so I made a point in taking more pictures of the outdoors even if that meant including grey skies and lots of bare trees. They are part of what we see daily in Chicago after all! I also think it is important to include other family members' pictures (my husband sent me an aerial picture of North Carolina).  I took a picture of my order from Thistle Farms. I love their products, especially their Lavender liquid soap and their mission is very noble. The big news is that I finally had my eyes checked and surprise, surprise, I needed glasses! Got myself my first pair of Progressive Lenses!

On the above close-up,  one can see a tag with the date printed on it. Adding a title and an embellishment directly onto a landscape photo serves two purposes: it adds a little color and gives an important piece of information.

Another thing I often do when I place my pictures in the pocket pages is that I place close-ups at the bottom of the pages and landscape pictures with a piece of the sky all the way to the top. It is not a rule by any means but I think it helps achieve a good sense of scale.

The clear stickers can be used in so many different ways, directly placed on a picture, added to a card (see left page) or like here, adhered to the center of a butterfly embellishment.
