Do you have a special girl in your life?  A dreamer, one who loves pink, purple and unicorns?   Then you absolutely NEED the new Simple Stories Magical Birthday collection!!!  It’s fun, fabulous and a celebration for your princess.

I’ll be honest with you.. I don’t think this set is completely for the kiddos!  I know a few grown up ladies that would love this collection too!   I mean who doesn’t love unicorns?   I seriously think growing up is totally unnecessary!  LOL!

This collection has EVERYTHING… pattern papers, die cut bits and pieces, journaling bits and pieces, chipboard, decorative brads, enamel dots, and WASHI too!  With little UNICORNS with GOLD HORNS!!

I wish my photos showed all the gold foil to it’s full advantage here because it’s total eye candy!   There’s gold foil on the chipboard, stickers and bits and pieces.

I used the 6x8” paper pad for all my cards today.  The print is a little smaller than it appears on the 12” sheets making it perfect for smaller layouts like cards.

I love the rainbows on everything from the papers and die cuts to the brads and the washi.  I’m one of those people who think every color is their favorite color so this is eye candy for me!

Squee!! Isn’t that unicorn cupcake adorable?    The “hooray” sentiment is gold foil, and the gorgeous florals are thick chipboard.

If you look close you’ll see I added a little bit of washi on each card as well as some sentiments from the 4x6” sticker pad.   The decorative brads are colorful and shiny and totally fun – can you spot one on each card?

Hooray for this wonderful Magical Birthday Collection!  It’s sure to make the birthday girl feel like a princess!

Supplies

Have you checked out the Simples Stories Best Year Ever Collection?  It’s celebrates the things that make each month special - the holidays and changing of the seasons.   This collection is wonderful for embellishing planners, or documenting special occasions throughout the year.  I’m a card maker so I thought I’d make a card to celebrate holidays or seasonal birthdays.

January celebrates winter!  I made a fun scene cutting pattern paper from the 6x8” pad to create colorful snowdrifts for the cute snowman!  The snowflakes are a mix of chipboard, decorative brads, stickers and bits and pieces.

February is sugar sweet with hearts, a calendar page and yummy treats! The layout of each card is the same.  A foam sticker with the month is at the  top right of each card and coordinating foam stickers are along the left attached horizontally.

Lucky me!  March is a fun mix of rainbows and shamrocks.   The washi tape in this collection features a rainbow stripe roll, a floral and a third printed with the months of the year.

There are no clouds to chase away in April because we know that spring flowers will follow soon!  The 6x8 pattern papers are perfect for card making.  They feature a smaller pattern print and each sheet when cut in half will cover two A2 size cards.

This collection has many beautiful embellishments.  These May flowers are surrounded by little chipboard butterflies and enamel dots in coordinating colors.

June is a tropical paradise.  A flirty flamingo and juicy fruits are candy for the eyes.  Even the little decorative brad has a pineapple on it.   I adhered the printed and die cut bits and pieces with adhesive foam tape.  It’s easy to make your own with inexpensive craft foam and double sided tape.

July is all things summer – fireworks, barbeques, and of course the stars and stripes.   I added small sentiments from the 4x6 sticker book to each of the cards.

In August we’re getting out of the house and heading out for a picnic!  The van is packed and we’ve got some yummy berries in the basket!

September is back to school.  A lined piece of patterned paper looks like a sheet from a notebook and is topped with a pencil and books, a sneaker and a decorative brad that reads “best year ever”.  Little foam sticker paper clips add some washi are fun embellishments.

October brings Jack O Lanterns, Bats and a Ghost.  I love a pop of teal with the orange so I added extra blue enamel dots.

November is sweater weather.  I arranged pumpkins and leaves as a focal point for this card.   I embellished the card with decorative brads and green enamel dots for a pop of color.

Simple Stories combines all the things you love about each month of the year so it really is the best year ever!

Hello my friends!  Today I’m wishing you springtime fun and bunny kisses with the Simple Stories Hip Hop Hooray Collection.  This collection is a breath of fresh air and springtime fun.

When you think spring, you’ll find flowers, butterflies, birdies and of course bunnies and eggs!  This collection has them all in yummy spring colors – yellow, pink, teal, orange and green. I love making with the perfectly coordinated papers and printed die cut bits and pieces.

I created several different style cards to share today including scenes with blue skies and waves of rolling green hills.

Circles are perfect for embellishing -  like this wreath.  Adding a floral spray at the top and a bunny at the bottom with adhesive foam tape makes it extraordinary.

All of my cards today were made with the 6x8 paper pad.  The smaller pages are perfect for card making.  One sheet cut in half is the perfect size for an A2 size card front.  The smaller pages mean a smaller pattern print too.

A great way to use up all those pretty scraps your saving is to make a card with a color block technique.  Simply attach strips of pattern paper together to make a one of a kind print background.

Journal cards and journaling bits and pieces make beautiful focal points for layered cards.   This collection has lots of extras too.. decorative brads, enamel dots, and washi that are total eye candy taking your cards to the next level!

The Journal Bits and Pieces include lots of sentiment strips, tabs and labels.  If you look close you’ll see I stacked labels on this background to create a base to embellished with die cut images.

There’s so much to love about this collection.  I can’t wait to mail these cute cards to send Easter wishes and spread the smiles.
