Jeanne Jachna's Blog Posts

Fall is in the air and as the air turns crisp and the leaves begin to fall my mind turns to camping.  There is a long tradition of camping in my family.  My husband has always been an avid outdoorsman, always ready for a hike or a fishing trip.

When our son was old enough he became a Boy Scout.  Of course that means lots of volunteer time for us and eventually my husband became Scoutmaster.  I loved setting up merit badge clinics on whatever the boys had an interest in.  I’d find local professionals to share their skills and knowledge with the group.

Scouting depends heavily on volunteers and it’s important to let them know how much they are appreciated.  I always sent our special guests and park rangers a thank you from the group on a hand made card made with an outdoors theme.

I’d always send my son a card to let him know how much I missed him when he went off to camp.  Usually my husband would tag along and take lots of photos of the boys and their adventures.

We’d pour over the photos when they would get back from summer camp or a high adventure trip and eventually those photos would morph into personalized scrapbooks for the boys.

I can’t tell you how honored I’ve been to see books I’ve made proudly on display at Eagle Scout Ceremonies

The Simple Stories Happy Trails collection is perfect for all your outdoor adventures.  The wonderful images and coordinated colors make creating a SN@P!

You’ll love all the camping, fishing, and hiking images.  There are trail signs, animals flora and fauna.  Who knew that Simple Stories could even make the pesky mosquitos adorable?

Hi friends!  It’s Jeanne here today!  And I’m so excited to share EIGHT Halloween cards made with the Simple Stories Happy Haunting Collection!

This beautiful colors of this collection include the traditional orange and black you associate with Halloween, with the unexpected addition of PINK!  This gives this collection a fresh look with a sweet twist.

The collection has so many beautiful prints too.. plaid, gingham, zig zag stripes, colorful dots, starry skies and florals too!

The chipboard stickers are great for adding dimension to your projects.  I cut the garland included on the sheet in two pieces to embellish this card.

The 3x4” pocket/journaling cards printed on a 12” paper in the collection kit are perfect for  layering over pattern paper and embellishing.

You’ll also find Icon Bits and Pieces that are great for making scenes and embellishing, as well as Journaling Bits and Pieces that are great for adding hand written sentiments and documenting your journaling pages.   Some of these die cut pieces include printed sentiments like the speech bubble on this card.

I like to arrange the bits and pieces and chipboard stickers on a piece of clear plastic the same size as my card base before I commit and adhere them in place.

I powder the back of stickers from the Collection Kit Sticker sheet so I can arrange them without them sticking to other elements.  I adhere them with liquid glue when I decide where to place them.

You’ll have lots of fun making with this collection and your card recipients will be delighted with your one of a kind creations!

Hi!  It’s Jeanne here today!  I’ll let you in on a secret… Halloween is my favorite holiday!  I love the bright colors .. I mean orange and purple?  YES!  I’m there!  It’s a time of year when the ordinary  is transformed into the extra ordinary and you can become anyone or anything your mind can conjure.  Pumpkins come alive with jack o lantern faces and a simple cape can transform you into a super hero.

The new Say Cheese Halloween is all of these things rolled into a paper collection.  The collection includes bright papers in stripes and dots, bits and pieces printed die cuts of pumpkins, skulls, bats and haunted houses.

What makes this collection twice the fun is the Say Cheese element of the most magical place on earth!

All the collection elements are perfectly coordinated and would make a great addition to your Say Cheese journaling albums!  I love the die cut  Kids Bits and Pieces for making scenes.

This cute little witch is dancing around a cauldron of green punch for the party.  A string of decorative garland hangs over her head.

This little girl is waling through the “cemetery”, a front yard decorated with punny head stones.  The grassy hills are made from cut waves of colorful pattern paper.

ARRGHHH!  Ahoy matey!   Two pirates are trick or treating under a full moon as bats swoop across the night sky.

This cool dude with the shades is outside a haunted house.  The wrought iron fence is covered with warning signs of spooky things ahead.

EIGHT CARDS!  I told you I love Halloween!  You’ll have loads of fun making cards, and documenting your favorite spooky memories with this amazing collection!
