Nicole Nowosad's Blog Posts

It's Nicole here today to share a project I created using the Sunshine and Blue Skies collection. This fun collection is perfect for capturing all those spring and summer memories! I just love the ombre tones in the papers which is perfect to bring together a lot of the different patterned papers in this collection.

I started my project by gathering together several papers from the 6x8 paper pad. I mixed up several patterns to line the inside of these big words that I cut on my digital cutter. This is a great way to mix up patterns and colors on your project.

I like to mount shapes like these with foam adhesive so the design POPS! I kept the embellishment minimal, by using stickers from the Combo sticker sheet in some of the empty spaces on the layout.

Keeping the background a neutral color helps all the colors and patterns of the paper pop, and if you add a busier pattern behind it also helps draw together your project.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you are ready for summer and are inspired to capture some of your spring/summer memories with the Sunshine and Blue Skies collection.

Good morning Simple Stories fans! Nicole here to share with you a bright and bold layout using the Oh Happy Day collection.

I just couldn't resist using a good variety of the patterned paper in this collection to create my page. I just adore the bright colors and gorgeous patterns and so I cut up several strips from several of those papers to create the background for my page.

I create some simple + signs around my photo and anchored the project with a strip of neutral teal along the top and bottom edges of the project. I added several rows of machine sewing across the + signs to add a little texture too.

I finished off the page with a title cut from my Silhouette Cameo and popped it up with plenty of foam dots. I love that you can get a co-ordinated Simple Basics kit to go with this collection, they are perfect for die cutting and layering.

Thank you for joining me on the blog today, I hope you are inspired to create something of your own that is bold and colorful!

Spring is popping up all around us! The Simple Vintage Botanicals collection is perfect to capture some of those moments of spring. Nicole here today to share a project that I made using this pretty collection.

First, I pulled out some of the chipboard frames from the collection and secured my photos behind both. I added some detail by running the chipboard frames through my sewing machine. I added some dimensional foam adhesive to the back of each photo to ensure they popped off the page.

Next, I diecut some larger butterflies from some patterned paper and adhered each beside both photos, adding in a journaling card to fill in the open area.

I trimmed out small pieces of the watercolour palette paper and adhered each piece along the edge of the main patterned paper in the center of the page, adding some machine stitching to hold it all in place. I truly enjoyed creating this layout and working with this new Botanicals collection and hope you love it!
