Jackie Gallagher's Blog Posts

Hello everyone!!  Jackie G here to share a super fun summer project with you!! I’m super excited about this mini album…well, more like “not-so” mini album!!  Measuring in at 9” x 10” with a 3” spine…it’s a big one!!

I used the “Hello Summer” collection to make this beauty!!  Since it was so big I ended up using two of the collection kits, 6x8 paper pad, bits and pieces, and the chipboard stickers.

So lets get started!!  I kept the front cover pretty simple.  Using just two of the chipboard elements to create my title “hello summer”.  I decided to keep it simple because this album will be traveling with us throughout the summer and I didn’t want anything to get snagged or torn off during transport.

When you open the album I’ve got a HUGE accordian pocket on the left hand side of the album.  Inside I’ve placed a notepad for my children to jot down notes or drawings while we are out and about.  There is also a TON of room for extra photos or memorabilia to be stored.  On the right hand side I’ve created a fun little pen holder.  Each of the pages are pocket pages with top inserts.  So again, LOTS of room for photos!!

This page is super fun with a cute little scooter to hold a journaling card.

Can’t go wrong with summer and flamingos!!  This guy holds a couple different size photomat and journaling cards.  I was very cautious about keeping all the mats an easy size so all I have to do is print photos and stick them on with little or no cutting involved.  This spread has two smaller pocket pages with side inserts.  The pull out for lots of extra photo or journaling storage.

I love this spread!!  “I dream of summers that last forever”!!!  LOVE it!!  I’m a summer girl so this collection really has my heart!!

These two inserts I made specifically for using a white gel pen on the back of the black cardstock for some journaling!!  I know my boys will enjoy helping as this house is in full blown “splash zone” here!!! haha

Here’s another spread with the side pockets.  Pool hair, don’t care, and the last of the pages.

And lastly, we’ve got a big notepad on the back cover for lots more journaling, drawings or whatever else we need!!! I’m so incredibly excited to fill this album up!!

Hello everyone!!  Jackie G  here again with some fun cards to share with you!!

I can’t believe Mother’s Day just around the corner…do you have your cards ready??  This mini collection is seriously perfect for all your “mama” needs!!!! I mean, who doesn’t love cute little llamas??  Brings back some fun memories…when I was growing up, our house backed up against a large field.  Guess what was in that field...llamas!!  Lots of llamas!!  My sister and I had so much fun seeing the them daily, especially in spring when the babies were born!! So, of course I fell instantly in love with this collection the moment I saw it!!

I was able to get a set of 4 cards out of this collection and still had scraps to spare!!

I also decorated the inside of a couple of the cards and made matching envelopes!!

Thanks for stopping by!!  Happy Mama Day!!!!

Hello my fellow crafters!! Jackie G here again with a super fun project to share with you today!!  I don’t know about you, but mini albums are so fun to make!!  The album I am sharing with you today was inspired using the tutorial by Frances of Your Book of Memories.  You can find a link to her tutorial HERE. This album holds so many photos, it’s unbelievable!!! Check it out!!

I plan to give this mini album to a friend so wanted to create a matching card to go with the gift.  I used the gorgeous I Am collection to create both the album and card.

Okay, lets get started!! First, I created a thick belly band to keep my album closed.  I didn’t have any magnet closures so had to get super creative!!  I opted to specifically use some of the chipboard elements to decorate my belly band as they are very sturdy.  I wanted to make sure nothing could bend as this piece will get a lot of traffic.  I made sure to keep the entire cover, spine and back flat so nothing would catch on the band.

This album has so many fun features including and big accordion pocket, hidden pockets, and two waterfall features that can hold both 3x4 and 4x6 photos!!  Like I said before, you get a lot of real estate in this mini!!

The accordion pocket has a ½” gusset which allows for lots of storage!!  The storage possibilities for this giant pocket are endless!! You can put photos, memorabilia, notepads, pretty much anything!! Again, I didn’t have any magnets so created a paperclip closure with some of the butterfly chipboard elements and some ribbon.

I also created paperclip closures to keep my waterfall features closed.  Didn’t want them flopping around!!

Thank you so much for stopping by!!  I hope you enjoyed these projects!! Have a wonderful crafty day!!
