Lisa Saunders's Blog Posts

Hello!!  It's Lisa, I'm here today to show you just how much fun I've been having with the 'Sub Zero' collection. I created this 12x12 here using some Disney photos of our's taken in the Summer at the Winter Summerland Mini Golf, which is Christmas themed. I love that you get to play golf in the 90's sunshine and listen to Christmas music. There's even fake snow!!

I do love a white background, but I also love to create a frame for my pages. I just feel it finishes them off. My photos really needed those thick white borders. The colours are so similar to this paper line that they would have been lost on this page otherwise. It really helps them to stand out.

I used one of the stickers from the 12x12 sticker sheet and added some printed strips to create the title. I really enjoy doing this.I alternated sticking the sticker and die cut snow flakes with tape and 3d foam dots to add extra depth.

And this 'Snow Much Fun' was cut from one of the 3x4 Element sheets. It's what pulled this whole page together for me. Thinking of the fun that we had on that day and using the lime green which I continued throughout the page in the form of paper strips and snowflakes to bring it all together. This is the favourite part of this layout for me.

I do have a video here where I show everything from this collection that I have received and you can also watch this page being made by myself. I hope you enjoy.

This page just makes me smile. I love all the bright colours and jolly elements. It's just perfect for the fun time that we had and just goes to prove that you can still have 'Snow Much Fun' even in Florida in the hot August sun.

Hi, It's Lisa here today along with the 'Beautiful' collection once again.

This patterned paper with the big polka dots screamed out Disney to me. Anything with polka dots screams out Disney to me to be honest, but I knew this one would be a perfect background to one of our many new Disney photos.

Before even starting this layout, I knew straight away what I wanted to do with those big circles. Stick the strips of wordy stickers over the top of them and that's exactly what I did. I also added a few of the clear stickers and some of the bits and pieces too. It was fun attaching a few with staples. It just made a nice change.

I decided to edit my photo to black and white as it suited the page much better. I also added a warm tint. It really goes well now along with a big thick white border.
I used some vellum, letter size, to go under the photo and on top of the patterned paper. I just attached this with a couple of staples top and bottom and nothing else. This really added to the softness of the layout and the layers look really good.

I really love all the layers, the circles and the fun word strips on this page. As I had so many little phrases on the stickers, I didn't feel the need to add any additional journaling. The work was done for me!! It was so much fun to make.

Thank you for stopping by today.
Wishing you a fun and creative day.

Hi, It's Lisa back with you today. I've been having fun recently with the most beautiful collection, which rather fittingly is called 'Beautiful'.

It's a very subtle collection with soft pinks and mint green with a strong black contrast which goes really well. I decided to use a piece of the spotted black 12x12 pieces to frame my LO to really help it stand out. That along with the black spotted heart in the centre is so eye catching.

The large black heart in the centre comes from one of the 8x6 patterned papers. I trimmed it down and took a craft knife to the right side of the heart and ran it along the side of the heart so that I could slip my photo neatly underneath.

I used lots of the stickers from the 12x12 sheet and the 4x6 packs and some of the bits and pieces too. The clear sticker packs also worked really well here.

To add an extra pop of colour I used a little acrylic paint on my page and matched some green embroidery thread to the green from the collection. Not only does it add a little extra colour but I love the added texture that it brings to the layout.

I sewed along the top of the 6x8 paper here and tied the thread in to a bow at the end. I really like that pink/green contrast. It just goes so well.

I'm really pleased with this soft, gentle, girlie page.
I do have a video here if you would like to watch how I created it and I also open up whole of the 'Beautiful' collection that I received if you would like to see what everything looks like. It's a stunning range.

Thanks so much for joining me today.
Have a 'beautiful' day!!
