Hello Simple Stories friends!

Marcia here today. I hope you all had a spooktacular Halloween! Did you get some great photos of your little monsters? The Simple Stories Simple Vintage Halloween collection is perfect for those Halloween photos ... but it can also be used to document your Day of the Dead celebrations too. My little nephew got his face painted for the occasion and I thought I would scrap it with a big sugar skull from the Silhouette store. I backed the sugar skull digital cut file with lots of different pattern papers from the Vintage Halloween collection.

One of the things I love about this collection is the layering of elements on the stickers and pattern papers. It makes it easy to scrap, but it looks like you spent hours. You can see buttons, doilies, and brads ... but on a sticker or on paper, they add no bulk to your layout.

I used the Spooky Sweet die cut for my title, and layered lots more bits and pieces die cuts, chipboard, and stickers around it. This collection has some awesome washi tape. You can see it near the top and bottom of my layout. I think the one with the pumpkin faces is my favorite.

Here is a closer look at the sugar skull...

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Day of the Dead.

Hello Simple Stories friends!

Marcia here today with your Simple Stories inspiration. I couldn't resist using the Dream Big collection to document a special little ladies birthday. She reached double digits ... 10! Not too old though, Destinee is the perfect age for unicorns and fairies. I couldn't get a big unicorn with rainbow hair out of my mind when I saw this collection so I decided to do it big ... I love how he turned out!

I added sparkle to my unicorn with some holographic foil paper. I love the extra magical shimmer it added. The puffy stickers were perfect for adding some flowers near that magical horn.

I used more stickers and some bits and pieces die cuts to embellish my photo. Some machine stitching adds a little texture.

The Sparkle die cut makes for a fabulous title and the rainbow hair really sets the die cuts off.

Cupcake Unicorn Carousel

I wanted to make something extra special for this little ladies birthday so I created a cupcake carousel, complete with unicorn ponies.

Using the print and cut unicorns available in the Silhouette Store, I made some cupcake picks. The print and cut files are awesome as you can resize your unicorns to whatever size you need and make enough picks for all your cupcakes.

Would you like to see more?

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to check out the Dream Big collection for your fairy and unicorn lovers!

Hello Simple Stories friends!

Marcia here today with some Fall layout inspiration using the beautiful new Forever Fall collection. Fall is my favorite time of year. There is nothing better than afternoon hikes to enjoy the colors, sipping pumpkin spice lattes, and trips to the apple orchard for my favorite honeycrisp apples. When my daughter did an internship in Colorado, she spent her free weekends hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Park. In this photo of her by a lake, you can see the pretty yellow leaves on the mountain behind her.

Various pattern papers back this fabulous leaf digital cut file from JustNick Studios. A colorful leaf is probably the first thing you think of for Fall and I wanted to include the many different colors in the Forever Fall collection.

I added embellishments to anchor my photo like this awesome Fall banner I created from stickers in the 4x6 sticker collection and beautiful bits and pieces die cuts.

I created a mixed media background using different blue mists. Forever Fall has some beautiful blue pattern papers and I wanted to play up this color.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have time to enjoy the beautiful Fall season. Don't forget to take photos so you can document the memories with the Forever Fall collection.
