Hi there Simple Stories Friends! Nathalie with you today with a new layout that brings a not-so frightful approach to Halloween memories.   When i saw the Happy Kids Bits and Pieces of the new Say Cheese Halloween collection from Simple Stories, i did a small inner cheer as i had the perfect picture for it.  Hence this page.

I wanted to bring color and playfulness to this page, so i opted to use lots of the patterned papers, and what better way than to create a large title for the page.  I chose a few cut files from the Silhouette store to cut the words from some of the collection's papers.   A chose to cut an offset of the words out of the Say Cheese 4 Basics papers and then hand stitched the words to the black cut out.

Before building the page, i chose to trim and distress the edges of the Frankly Frightful paper, then stitched it to the  Hey Pumpkin paper.   A few sticker details were added to the distressed edges, followed by drops of black and white ink around the page.

The title was glued on a bit of a slant, then i nestled the pictures atop the title, and started adding embellishments around them. I chose to complete my title with one of the phrase stickers from the ephemera pack

To finish the page,i added a few lines of journal to the side of the title, followed by a pair of the Happy Kids Bits and Pieces that match closely their costumes.  Just love these little pieces of joy.

I LOVE how this turned out!  The new Say Cheese Halloween from Simple Stories is one of the cutest and not-so frightful collections around, you are going to fall in love with it!

Hi there Simple Stories friends!

Nathalie with you today bringing you a new layout  boo-ti-ful layout.   When the new Happy Hunting collection arrived at my doorstep, all i could think about was documenting a few of our past Halloween memories with its beautiful color palette and designs.

It all started with creating the background for this layout.  I chose to add some mixed media to a letter size white cardstock page so that it complemented the warm tones in the collection. While the background dried, I used a JustNick cut file to cut two spider webs from the Jeepers Creepers paper.

The Hocus Pocus paper is probably one of my favorite papers in the Happy Haunting collection, so  used it as the mat for this layout. I glued the cardstock and spiderweb cut outs towards the top part of the paper.

Once the picture was set in place ( i used papers from the collection to back and add layers behind the picture), i used some of the ephemera pieces to create the title for this layout,  just loved the little spiders that the collection features.

To use all the space below the picture, i chose to add a large cluster of bits and bit and pieces, stickers, and a few stamped sentiments (using the coordinating stamp set). I love florals, so having them to embellish the page was amazing. The lines of journal were also added at the bottom of the cluster, followed by splatters of white, black and gold ink.

I love how this page turned out. All those beautiful embellishments just complemented the story of my daughter's Halloween costume search. You have to check the Happy Hunting collection from Simple Stories, I am sure you will love it, too!

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today with a new layout all about the glorious outdoors.   There is nothing like fresh air and good company to create great memories, and when the new Happy Trails collection from Simple Stories arrived at my door, i quickly pulled a few of those memories to create this page.

I am a sucker for wood grain paper, so i quickly pulled the Happy Camper paper to cut the title from it using a cut file from the Silhouette store.  At the same time,  the letters and waves were also cut from the Lakeside paper.

The title was backed with the patterned paper and foam adhesive to create a bit of dimension on the layout.   The waves were then hand stitched to the Love You S'more paper, and then the title was glued in place above the waves.

I used the Happy Trails 3x4 and 4x6 element papers to back the pictures, and then attached them to the bottom of the title.   I used elements from the Chipboard and cardstock stickers as well as both Bits and Pieces packs to create the clusters around them.

To break up all the wood grain of the background, i decided to trim the bottom of the page a bit and back it with a piece of the Lakeside paper.   A small fold was created at the bottom of the page,  here i added a few stickers and pieces of ephemera to bring a bit more interest to the page.

To finish the page,  i chose to add clusters at the  corners of the title work, so that they bring the colors of the collection, and celebrate my daughter's fishing adventure.

I hope this has inspired you to document those sweet and glorious outdoor adventures using the new Simple Stories Happy Trails collection.   Remember to check it out, you are going to love it!
